CE Marking

The goal

The European market has grounds on the free circulation of people, services, goods and investment within the European Economic Area. 

The free movement of construction products in the EEA is stipulated by the Construction Products Regulation - Regulation (EU) No 305/2011, which lays down harmonised conditions for the marketing of construction products, obliging this type of products to comply with the following basic requirements of construction works: 

 

  • Mechanical resistance and stability. 
  • Safety in case of fire. 
  • Hygiene, health and the environment. 
  • Safety and accessibility in use. 
  • Protection against noise. 
  • Energy economy and heat retention.
  • Sustainable use of natural resources.

The application of CE marking in the windows, doors and façades sector is done according to the following classification standards, which support the completion of the declaration of performance for each product:

 

  • BS EN 14351-1:2006+A2:2016

Windows and doors. Product standard, performance characteristics. Part 1: Windows and external pedestrian doorsets.

 

  • BS EN 14351-2:2018

Windows and doors. Product standard, performance characteristics. Part 2: Internal pedestrian doorsets.  

 

  • BS EN 13830:2015+A1:2020

Curtain walling. Product standard.

 

The affixing of the CE marking by the manufacturer on his products is evidence that they are in conformity with the requirements set out in the Construction Products Regulation and fit for use, being allowed to circulate freely in the Community.

Factory production control.

Additional testing of samples taken ate the manufacturing plant by the manufacturer.		 Assessment of the performance of the product.
Initial inspection of the manufacturing plant and of factory production control.
Continuous surveillance, assessment and evaluation of factory production control.		 Declaration of the performance made by the manufacturer based on the certificate of constancy of performance of the product made by the certification body. Structural purposed fibres.

3 Factory production control. Assessment of the performance of the product (tests on the basis of sampling carried out by the manufacturer). Declaration of performance made by the manufacturer based on the performance evaluation through tests/calculations carried out by the notified laboratory. Exterior pedestrian doors and windows.
